Every picture tells a story because every artist – painter or photographer – has created that picture, either from observation or imagination or a combination of both.
It is common to hear someone say I took these pictures (photos). It is less common to hear someone say I created (made) this picture. I used to believe it was necessary to be permanently on guard with cocked camera so that I would not miss, possibly the most amazing photo ever shot. I know better now, and I have learned a lot in the past couple of years, but I still remind myself regularly that
‘a little knowledge is a dangerous thing’.
