Brighter Days

Posted on Posted in Poetry

The road is long and sometimes lonely.

City lights have lost their glow.

The neon sign’s a hazy flicker

On children playing in the snow.

Brighter days will come again

As closer to the end we near.

A lasting peace that softly falls,

So death, for us, should hold no fear.
