Temptation

Life’s not fair, I hear you sigh.

We stoop so low to reach so high.

To know yourself you must be free

Of all restraints and vanity.

Not pressured by the deeds of others,

Who know us not, as we are brothers.

Like vultures round an ailing beast,

How weak we now appear at least.

Try they might to lead us on

But they will never break the bond.
